Description
The Documentation Preparation Specialist II supports the commercial loan production teams through courteous, timely, and accurate preparation and review of loan documents. Gathers, compiles, and evaluates information, as well as obtains documents necessary for timely completion of a loan, up to closing.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works directly with the loan production officers and assistants to aid in facilitating loan closings.
- Responsible for verifying proper documentation required for underwriting.
- Prepares loan documents in accordance with the Bank’s credit policy and loan approval and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
- Reviews centrally prepared loan documents prior to closing for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, and the Bank’s credit policy.
- Identifies, tracks, and communicates loan exceptions, as needed.
- Scans and maintains the signed closing documents and all related file documentation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field, or minimum 5 years’ equivalent work experience, required.
- 3-5 years’ experience in financial institution producing commercial, agriculture, consumer, and mortgage lending, required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Extensive administrative or professional experience in a relevant field that provides the background and experience necessary to guide the Bank’s commercial lending portfolio servicing activities in a financially safe and sound manner.
- Thorough knowledge of commercial, agriculture, mortgage, and consumer lending practices.
- Thorough understanding of loan documentation criteria and business objectives.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and evaluate detailed and complex loan documents.
