Position Objectives:
As an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in our clinic, you will play a critical role in diagnosing, treating, and managing endocrine disorders. Working closely with our endocrinologist, you will provide patient-centered care, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans. Your expertise will be vital in educating patients, supporting their long-term health, and ensuring they receive the highest quality of care.
Position Responsibilities
Patient Care
Conduct comprehensive assessments, including medical histories, physical exams, and diagnostic tests, to diagnose and manage endocrine disorders.Treatment Planning
Develop and implement personalized treatment plans in collaboration with the endocrinologist, focusing on optimizing patient outcomes.Patient Education
Educate patients on their conditions, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications to effectively manage their endocrine disorders.Medication Management
Prescribe medications, including hormone therapies and other treatments, and monitor patient responses to ensure effectiveness and safety.Collaboration
Work closely with the endocrinologist and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care, ensuring all aspects of the patient's health are addressed.Follow-up Care
Conduct regular follow-up visits to monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and provide ongoing support.Documentation
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and patient interactions in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.Quality Improvement
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and clinic operations.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in Florida.
- Certification: National certification as an NP or PA in family medicine, internal medicine, or a related specialty.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in endocrinology, diabetes management, or a related field is preferred.
- Skills: Strong clinical skills in diagnosing and managing endocrine disorders, with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to educate and motivate patients.
- Technology: Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and telehealth platforms.
