The Director of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) is responsible for overseeing the entire revenue cycle process to ensure efficiency, compliance, and financial performance. This role collaborates with departmental and site leadership to optimize workflows and maintain process integrity. As a key member of the Management Team, the RCM Director supports the Chief Financial Officer in achieving operational and financial objectives while safeguarding practice assets. Additionally, this position ensures timely and compliant execution of all accounts receivable functions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Revenue Cycle Management team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Report directly to the CFO and executive leadership team, providing regular updates on revenue cycle performance, challenges, and strategic initiatives.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize revenue cycle processes, including billing, collections, and reimbursement.
- Oversee the entire revenue cycle, from patient registration to final payment, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Analyze revenue cycle data and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance revenue capture and minimize revenue leakage.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Operations, and IT, to streamline workflows, resolve issues, and maximize revenue opportunities.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in revenue cycle management, incorporating relevant changes into organizational policies and procedures.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to revenue cycle staff, fostering their professional development and ensuring high levels of performance and accountability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in revenue cycle management, with progressive leadership responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare billing, collections, reimbursement methodologies, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid).
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing revenue cycle strategies, process improvements, and performance metrics.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and trends to inform decision-making.
- Proven leadership abilities, including the ability to inspire and motivate teams, foster a culture of collaboration and accountability, and drive results.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Certified Revenue Cycle Professional (CRCR) designation preferred.
- Proficiency in revenue cycle management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
