Job Description:
StrikeLines is seeking an experienced deckhand for offshore sonar survey trips on our 53-foot Hatteras sportfish. Trips typically last 24-72 hours, and we require a reliable and committed individual with experience on offshore fishing boats.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sitting watch at the helm for 3-5 hour shifts
- Deploying and retrieving sonar equipment
- Monitoring the sonar display while on watch
- Notifying the boat captain of any problems or concerns
- Ensuring the autopilot is following the expected track
- Shifts are typically 4 hours on, 4 hours off
Requirements:
- Experience working on offshore fishing boats. (Docking, tying knots, etc.)
- At least 21 years of age.
- Available to spend up to 4 days offshore without returning to land.
- Coast Guard OUPV License / Can pass drug test.
Compensation:
- $25/hour while on shift (approximately $300/day)
