Memory Care Director

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Memory Care Director to lead our memory care program within our assisted living facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in operations management and a deep understanding of the unique needs of residents with memory impairments. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, a commitment to resident rights, and the ability to foster a nurturing environment for both residents and staff.

Duties

• Oversee the daily operations of the memory care unit, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and best practices in resident care.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans that respect the rights and dignity of each resident.
• Lead, mentor, and train staff in best practices for memory care, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and community resources to enhance the quality of life for residents.
• Monitor resident progress and adjust care plans as necessary based on individual needs and preferences.
• Facilitate family support groups and educational sessions to empower families in understanding memory-related conditions.
• Ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment that promotes social interaction among residents.

Experience

• A background in nursing or social work is preferred, with experience in long-term care settings such as retirement homes or assisted living facilities.
• Proven leadership experience in operations management within a group home or similar environment.
• Familiarity with working with individuals who have developmental disabilities is a plus.
• Strong understanding of resident rights and advocacy principles.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect effectively with residents, families, and staff.
• A passion for enhancing the lives of individuals living with memory impairments through compassionate care and innovative programming.
