SUMMARY
STRIVE is looking for a Career Skills Instructor to assist with serving individuals in their Career Path program. The Career Path program offers occupational skills training, career coaching, job placement assistance, and lifetime services. START, facilitated in the first three weeks of Career Path, focuses on attitude, accountability, personal responsibility, workplace ethics, professional etiquette, and interpersonal skills. The STRIVE START program will not only help individuals land a job but build a career.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Facilitate various modules in STRIVE’s Career Path program, which includes motivational sessions, attitudinal training, goal setting, orientation to workplace expectations, conflict resolution, sexual harassment, and communication skills.
· Conduct monthly workshop orientations to an average of 50 participants.
· Specialize in resume creation, interviewing techniques, facilitation, and classroom management.
· Ongoing collaboration with other departments for case conferences, feedback, referrals, and continuous support.
· Present information using a variety of instructional techniques or formats, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, or lectures.
· Organize and obtain training procedure manuals and course materials such as handouts and visual materials to be given to students as needed.
· Maintain documentation, attendance records in STRIVE cloud-based CRM, and provide access to resources for wraparound support.
· Enter and maintain student data in STRIVE cloud-based CRM including, but not limited to: cohort enrollments, cohort attendance, and cohort completions.
· High level of comfort using and interpreting data reports to guide program service delivery.
· Commitment to leveraging data and supporting a data-driven culture at STRIVE.
· Complete weekly case notes to document student progress.
· Partner with the business development team to present workshops during “jump start” to prepare students for job search.
· Additional responsibilities as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor's degree
· Ability to interact positively with a variety of personalities and socio-economic populations and to maintain confidentiality.
· Knowledge of the local labor market and employer requirements.
· Act as an example of professionalism to participants by dressing appropriately, and always starting and completing sessions on time.
· Convey relevant information about the program to the participants, funders, visitors, and STRIVE staff.
· Provides one-on-one support to participants to address their motivation, emotional stability, and job readiness skills.
· Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in job readiness or workforce development required.
· Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
· Proficient in entering data into cloud-based CRM software such as Salesforce, Apricot, or other comparable platforms
· High level of comfort interacting with and incorporating data reports into service delivery
· Must have a high energy level with excellent administrative, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
· Must be flexible and able to assess the needs of the client and can keep calm and reason during stressful situations.
· Bilingual speaking abilities is a plus.

Location: This role is based at our New Orleans office, located at 1331 Kerlerec Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70116. It requires an in-person presence five days a week, Monday through Friday.
