POSITION SUMMARY
The Development Associate will play a key role in the support of ongoing Development team systems and operations, including project management, expense management, scheduling, and other special projects for the Development team. Additionally, they will update the donor database, ensuring highly organized record keeping of individual, institutional, and corporate contributions. This position also supports the processes to manage organizational individual donors and support general Board management. The Development Associate will provide high-level administrative support to the Chief Development Officer and will be motivated by the critical role of support work as a driving force behind collective team impact. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, relationship builder and project manager who is efficient and attentive to detail. This individual will support initiatives to strengthen the team’s work as a whole.

Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Database Management
- Track and process gifts received from individual, institutional and corporate funders, including keeping detailed copies and records of gifts
- Process gifts, write personalized acknowledgement notes, handle print and electronic correspondence, and assist in preparation of fundraising mailings and emails
- Ongoing reconciliation of contributions in partnership with colleagues from the Finance team
- Update Raiser's Edge NXT database records with pledge documentation, constituent action details, and other data
Administrative Support
- Coordinate internal GSD team meetings and retreats, working closely with the Chief Development Officer to support a positive team culture
- Provide administrative support for internal communication, within the team and with key stakeholders, across the STRIVE network
- Provide other administrative support to the Chief Development OfficeR.
- Including but not limited to developing agendas for meetings, arranging travel, managing correspondence, calendar management, processing expense reports and managing reimbursements
Donor and Board Engagement Support
- Provide administrative support to the CEO and CDO in their management of Board relationships and Board committees, including preparation of reports and materials for Board meetings, and materials to support Board fundraising efforts
- Support the donor facing strategies of the CEO, CDO, Executive Directors and other senior staff through the development of donor briefs and staffing of prep meetings
Other
- Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 2 years of equivalent experience required
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite required
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills
- Working knowledge of Blackbaud (Raiser’s Edge NXT preferred) or similar databases
- Prior Development experience preferred
- Knowledge of/experience in the nonprofit sector preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively

Location: This position will be in-person a minimum of two days per week at STRIVE New York’s office in East Harlem

Salary : $58,500 - $65,000
