KCL is seeking a Technology Designer/Engineer with at least 4-8 years of experience. This role is responsible for the analysis and design of technology systems for KCL Engineering that meet KCL Engineering standards, client expectations, and system budget. Work within department, office, and company teams to produce design documents. Provide consultation and construction administration for systems designed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Systems design responsibilities include:
- Telecommunications/Structured Cabling
- Intercommunications and Paging (K12-oriented)
- Classroom Audio Visual Systems with assistive listening
- Security Management Systems (ACS/IDS)
- Video Management Systems (VMS)
- Comfortable with door hardware coordination and parsing a CSI Division 08 specification.
- Detailed understanding and abilities to edit/craft Division 27 and Division 28 (CSI) specifications.
- Bid/Construction activities and responsibilities include:
- Creation of addenda
- Answering RFIs and requests for substitution
- Creation of supplemental instructions and price requests to support formal design adjustments
- Creation of observation reports/punchlists
- Strong communications and project management experience.
- Identify and work with key stakeholders for the duration of each project.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES
- Firm understanding of Autodesk’s Revit and AutoCAD platform for technology design activities.
- Thorough understanding of network impact and storage/retention solutions is a must.
- Experience with BIM/Standards Development is a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 4-8 years of experience preferred.
- RCDD is a plus.
- PSP and/or CPP certification is a plus.
