Job Description
Stronghold Construction is looking for a reliable/responsible handyman with maintenance experience to maintain our residential and commercial facilities. Must have a valid driver's license. The external and internal appearance of a building reflects on the occupants. It is important for a handyman to be careful and thorough in working, cleaning and tidying the premises, as well as preventing vandalism. We are seeking a candidate that is a team player, reliable, punctual, and has a solid work ethic. The ideal candidate will be experienced in a handyman role focused on general building upkeep and able to work independently. A keen eye for detail and diligence are also imperative this handyman role.
A summary of the job responsibilities are listed below:
- Familiarity with basic handyman practices
- General maintenance & upkeep of properties
- Attention to detail and conscientiousness
- Daily documented reporting of work order progress in an accurate and detailed manner. Maintaining ongoing project list by property
- Perform miscellaneous handyman repairs including but not limited to painting, drywall/framing, minor lighting/electrical, light plumbing, carpentry, and other general repairs (replacing broken switches, fixing door handles, minor leaks etc.)
- Report major damages and oversee repairs
- Turn/flip vacant units for new tenants
- Rehabilitate residential and commercial rental properties
- Addressing emergency unit owner calls in a timely manner and professional manner (as needed)
- Interacting with and maintaining a positive working relationship with our clients
- Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components
- Undertake occasional custodial and janitorial tasks (shoveling snow from the sidewalk, lifting heavy items, moving chairs, cleaning, etc.)
- General commercial construction/labor experience for using tools
