Summary/Objective:

The Rewind and Finishing Technician is a detail-oriented position in the Production Department of the company. This position is important for successful re-winding, inspection, packaging, and quality control.

Essential Functions:

  • Rewind and slit orders to customer specifications.
  • Learn and understand web direction techniques.
  • Run film-monitoring tensions very carefully.
  • Implement quality control procedures using quality checks as defined on the IPIC, Quality Manager, and/or Production Supervisor.
  • Perform appropriate packaging method for products and customers.
  • Create labels and implement label changes utilizing the Easy Label programs on the Zebra printers.
  • Communicate with the Process Planner on packing needs for jobs.
  • Utilize the help buttons in the ERP system to update and maintain information concerning jobs and customers on the work order and/or assembly e.g., improvements on quality, changes in the way it was run, etc.
  • Operate non-press equipment per work order, work instruction, and ISO procedures.
  • Retrieve raw materials for jobs using established safety procedures.
  • Maintain retains and samples as required.
  • Adhere to 5S principals and protocol documented for each area.
  • Contribute to the creation, improvement, implementation, documentation, and performance of the processes and procedures of The Strouse Corporation Quality Management System.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects that weigh up to 40 pounds, frequently lift, and/or move objects that weigh 20 to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Required Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED

Computer Proficiency: Basic Data Entry Skills

Preferred Education and Experience:

Related Experience in a Manufacturing/Warehouse Environment

Pay: $16.25 - $17.25 per hour
