Position Overview:
The Construction Materials Coordinator plays a vital role in our construction process by performing material take-offs, managing procurement activities, and ensuring materials are delivered on time. While we provide advanced software to assist with take-offs, your ability to visualize buildings and address unique material needs for repairs or unconventional projects is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform detailed material take-offs from construction blueprints, specifications, and drawings.
Generate accurate material lists and purchase orders to meet project requirements.
Collaborate with project managers and field supervisors to resolve material discrepancies or address changes.
Envision construction projects to identify material needs not covered by software, particularly for repairs or custom builds.
Work with suppliers to source materials.
Monitor inventory levels to ensure timely delivery and avoid project delays.
Maintain accurate records of purchases and material lists.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience in construction material purchasing, estimating, or inventory management—prior work in a lumber yard is highly desirable.
Proficiency in reading construction blueprints and understanding material requirements for post-frame or similar structures.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially in managing multiple tasks.
Comfort using construction management software (training provided).
Ability to think critically and solve problems for out-of-the-box projects and repairs.
Excellent communication skills.
