Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Refrigeration System Specialist to join our engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing refrigerated systems for our merchandisers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop refrigerated systems for our merchandisers
- Collaborate with technology teams to support new product development and design for manufacturability initiatives
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and standardization through research, observation, and supplier partnerships
- Develop rapid prototypes and proof-of-concept designs as needed
- Evaluate designs against regulatory requirements, including EPA, DoE, UL, and NEC standards
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience
- Proficiency in CAD software, with a preference for Solidworks
- Able to understand product/process variation and its impact on tolerance stack-ups
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing systems, techniques, and tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters-level or advanced technical degree
- 5 years of product design experience, with a strong skillset in new product development, efficiency improvements, and implementing/designing solutions
- Experience with electrical and/or refrigeration systems
- Solidworks Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP) certification
- Knowledge of product development processes, such as Stage Gate or APQP
- Demonstrated project management experience, with the ability to organize and manage complex projects simultaneously
