Job Summary
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet the required quality standards and specifications before they are released for distribution. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of our production processes and ensuring customer satisfaction through high-quality products.
Duties
- Major Responsibility Areas and Duties
- Performs qualify technical inspections of aircraft, components parts, and systems.
- Performs quality inspections of aircraft components, oversees maintenance work.
- Performs in process and final inspections. Quality control inspections of maintenance, repair modification, rework and overhaul of aircraft components, and subcomponent parts, and assumes responsibility for that work sign-off.
- Reviews procedures, and service forms used in performance of maintenance work to ensure compliance with approved methods, data, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Inspects all incoming parts ensure they carry approved documentation and certification.
- Writes up discrepancies in accordance with procedures.
- Additional Duties perform other duties as assigned by supervisors necessary for the normal day to day operation, not determined at time of hire.
- Responsible to the Senior Quality Control Inspector for ensuring satisfactory inspection criteria is met in accordance with established business objectives and department goals.
- Performs maintenance release inspections in accordance with OEM, and/or customer technical data and FAA approved data.
- Perform analysis and write quality findings reports for customers review
- Provides support and update substantiation files on current capability items. Support the shops in all quality related matters.
- Determines that no defective, unserviceable or non-airworthy conditions exist prior to release to service.
- Verifies accomplishment & recording of all incoming, preliminary, hidden & in-process inspections, as well as to perform Final inspections on units released. Performs other duties or tasks assigned by Quality management.
Skills/Education & Experience
- Certification: Airframe or repairman certificate preferred but not required.
- Skilled in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Familiarity with inspection methods, techniques, and equipment to ensure airworthiness of articles undergoing maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alteration.
- Proficiency in using inspection aids for assigned responsibilities.
- Ability to verify specifications, manuals, and other approved/current data used during inspections.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions
- Proficiency in using inspection aids for assigned responsibilities.
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, crouch, kneel, and walk for extended periods.
- Competent in handling parts and operating hand tools.
- Must be able to climb and work from ladders, work stands, and other heights.
- Must be able to work with one or both hands extended overhead.
- Must have correctable near and far vision.
- Must be able to hear at conversational level with a hearing aid.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Travel availability: 20%
