Job Title: Maintenance Technician – Level I

Summary:
The Maintenance Technician performs repairs to industrial equipment, facilities, and grounds and conducts routine-scheduled preventative maintenance.
Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining automated saws, conveyors, and assembly machinery. In addition, the technician will replace or install new electrical components such as switches, sensors, and motor starters.
Key Responsibilities:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of industrial equipment, facilities, and grounds through effective troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance. Key duties include:
- Performing routine and scheduled preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment, including automated saws, conveyors, and assembly machinery.
- Replacing or installing new electrical components, such as switches, sensors, and motor starters, with accuracy and efficiency.
- Diagnosing and repairing circuits of varying voltages (24V, 120V, and 240/480V).
- Troubleshooting electro-mechanical pneumatic systems, including components like air cylinders, solenoids, relays, and linear bearings.
- Adhering to OSHA and SDS safety standards and maintaining a strong safety culture in all tasks performed.
- Communicating effectively with production personnel to identify and resolve equipment or system issues promptly.
- Conducting general maintenance tasks related to HVAC, plumbing, and sanitary systems.
- Assisting with welding, mechanical fabrication, and other related tasks as required.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of experience troubleshooting electrical circuits and components of varying voltages.
- Proven experience troubleshooting and maintaining electro-mechanical pneumatic systems and components.
- Solid knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures and best practices.
- Familiarity with safety practices, including OSHA and SDS guidelines.
- Experience with HVAC, plumbing, and general facilities maintenance.
- Proficiency in welding and mechanical fabrication (preferred).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and production staff.
- Availability to work overtime as needed to support operational requirements.
Work Environment:
The production environment involves exposure to dust, vibration, and machinery noise. The open-floor production area is not climate controlled and can become extremely cold in winter and hot in summer. Outdoor work requires exposure to all weather conditions year-round.
Physical Demands:
The role requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, grabbing, stretching, twisting, climbing, crawling, pushing, and pulling. Employees must have the ability to regularly move objects between 15-50 lbs. and occasionally lift objects over 50 lbs.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with varying shifts available.
