Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient flow of goods in and out of our warehouse. The ideal candidate will have experience in shipping and receiving operations, familiarity with warehouse management systems, and a strong commitment to accuracy and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving:
- Accept and inspect all incoming deliveries.
- Unpack shipments and verify quantities and contents against bills of lading and purchase orders.
- Identify and report any discrepancies, damages, or late orders to the appropriate internal departments.
- Assist in unloading trucks, marking and routing materials to the correct departments.
- Facilitate returns of damaged or incorrect products in collaboration with the Purchasing Department.
- Accurately record receipts in the company’s software system and process the corresponding paperwork.
Shipping:
- Prepare outgoing shipments, ensuring all items are complete and conform to shipping guidelines.
- Communicate any shortages or back orders as per company policy and track them for timely resolution.
- Generate and process shipping documents, maintaining accurate records in the company’s software system.
- Ensure scheduled loads are shipped completely each day, consolidating orders when applicable.
- Work closely with loaders and drivers to safely and efficiently load trucks; assist with loading when necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift certification/license.
- Physically fit with the ability to bend, stoop, and lift up to 75 lbs, and stand and walk for an 8 hour shift.
- Ability to work effectively both indoors and outdoors, including in dusty, dirty, or inclement weather conditions.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations, load limits, and inventory management.
- Ability to operate forklift
- Comfort with extended periods of sitting and operating heavy machinery.
- Capability to work in environments exposed to sawdust, outdoor conditions, and fluctuating temperatures.
- Bilingual is a plus. (English and Spanish)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
