To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications :
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a safety manager, coordinator, or trainer is required, demonstrating a solid foundation in safety management.
- A bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, industrial hygiene, or a related field is preferred.
- Candidates must exhibit strong leadership skills, enabling them to effectively train and mentor others within the team.
- A comprehensive understanding of OSHA regulations is essential, ensuring compliance with safety standards and guidelines.
- The ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement effective corrective measures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary to convey safety information clearly and facilitate effective collaboration.
- Candidates should be prepared for 50-75% of travel throughout the Chicago area / region and on occasion outside of the Chicago area / region.
- Possession of OSHA 30 certification is required, and OSHA 500 is preferred, showcasing a commitment to professional development and expertise in safety protocol.
- CSST Certification preferred
- English / Spanish bilingual is considered a plus, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate and engage with a diverse workforce.
