Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Quality Inspections: Perform detailed inspections of raw materials, components, and finished products to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Quality Testing: Conduct various tests and experiments to assess product performance, durability, and reliability. Follow standard procedures to determine physical, mechanical, and chemical properties. Able to use various lab equipment and quality tools.
- Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret data from quality tests and inspections to identify trends, patterns, and potential areas for improvement. Provide actionable insights to relevant stakeholders.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of quality test results, inspection findings, and corrective actions taken. Ensure that all documentation is organized and easily accessible for reference and audit purposes.
- Root Cause Analysis: Investigate quality issues and non-conformances to determine the root causes. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions to address underlying issues.
- Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to optimize and enhance the quality control processes. Participate in quality improvement projects and initiatives to drive continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Conduct Audits: Plan, schedule, and conduct internal audits of quality management systems, processes, and procedures. Responsible for saving/scrapping decisions. Owns “Red Tag” process.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: 2 years previous experience in a quality assurance or quality control role, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with quality management systems and tools (e.g., ISO 9001, statistical process control, LSS) is highly desirable. Familiarity with powder coating and/or aluminum extrusion, a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using quality testing equipment and tools. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical data and perform root cause analysis.
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
