As a Principal Engineer - Tooling Design at Stryten Energy, you will lead the development, implementation, and optimization of cutting-edge tooling solutions for battery manufacturing equipment. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and overseeing the development of tools, jigs, fixtures, and other tooling devices essential for precision manufacturing processes. Your role will also involve guiding junior engineers, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring tooling solutions meet high standards for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Design and Development : Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of advanced tooling solutions that meet the highest standards for quality, efficiency, and manufacturability.
- Technical Leadership : Provide technical expertise and mentorship to a team of engineers, fostering innovation and excellence in tooling design.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with production, quality, and product engineering teams to ensure that tooling solutions align with operational requirements and manufacturing goals.
- Process Optimization : Identify and implement tooling improvements to optimize production workflows, reduce downtime, and increase output while maintaining quality standards.
- Project Management : Oversee multiple tooling design projects from inception through completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Vendor and Supplier Relations : Collaborate with external vendors, ensuring that tooling components and materials meet required specifications and quality standards.
- Innovation and R&D : Drive R&D initiatives to incorporate new materials, manufacturing methods, and digital tools that enhance the capabilities of the tooling design function.
- Compliance and Standards : Ensure all tooling designs adhere to relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices for safety and sustainability.
Qualifications
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) and other design tools.
