STS Aerospace in Laconia, NH is searching for a Second Shift Lab Test Technician to join the team. This position is responsible for testing experimental or prototype mechanical parts or structural products by conducting tests and recording results at various stages of the production process to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products. Candidate must be able to train on first shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs and documents preventative maintenance
- Examines parts for conformance with dimensional specifications
- Understands the necessity of instrument calibration and notifies supervisor when calibrations are due
- Sets up equipment and conducts tests in accordance with established test procedures
- Coordinates and participates in installing unit or system to be tested in test fixtures, connecting valves, pumps, hydraulic, mechanical or electrical controls, cabling, tubing, power source, and indicating instruments
- Measure and pour specified test media into the fixture and test samples. Test media are hydraulic fluids, hydrocarbon-based fuels, solvents, etc. which require mindfulness when pouring, transporting, measuring, handling, wiping, etc
- Activates controls to apply electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanical power and subject test item to successive steps in test cycle
- Accurately records test data results
- Reject pieces that do not fall within accepted test procedures
- Confers with engineering personnel to resolve fabrication problems relating to specifications and to review test plans such as types and cycles of tests, conditions under which tests are to be conducted, and duration of tests
- Consistently, regularly and dependably at work and on time
- Other duties may be assigned as needed
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Education, Certifications, Licenses, & Registrations - Associates Degree or 2 year Technical Certificate; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $24.50 per hour
