Telecom Laborer
STS Cable Services, Inc. is looking to add an outside plant laborer to our team. Experience placing fiber optic and coax cable in an OSP environment a plus but not required. Great entry level opportunity to learn with advancement opportunities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Installation and maintenance of underground telecommunications cabling.
- Ability to use basic hand tools, power tools, Shovels and ladders.
- Operate or work around heavy equipment and vehicles.
- Work closely around other utilities and in proximity of moving traffic.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, safe and well-organized workspace.
- Follow the direction of site Foreman/Supervisor.
General Requirements:
- Highly motivated individual.
- Ability to handle multiple issues simultaneously.
- Willing to perform limited travel depending on local workload.
- Work nights and weekends, (on-call) schedule, overtime as needed.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must show up to work on time.
- Pass a drug screen and background check per company policy.
- Must be strongly mechanically inclined.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift and carry loads of 75 lbs. or more.
- Work outside in all types of weather conditions.
- Able to work at heights of 3-25 ft.
- Able to bend, stand, sit, crawl, climb, and lift throughout each day.
- Work while standing 50-70% of the time.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour depending on experience.
