STS Technical Services is hiring Aircraft Maintenance Technicians at PWK airport in Wheeling, Illinois.

Whether you are replacing or repairing parts, troubleshooting electrical / mechanical / hydraulic and pneumatic systems or performing inspections on some of the most sophisticated civilian aircraft in the world, no day is the same.

Essential Functions :

• Performing general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems.
• Removal and installation of panels and components,
• Troubleshooting and problem solving aircraft system / component issues
• De-fueling aircraft,
• Engine removal / installations,
• Operating ground support equipment,
• Inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and components
• Aircraft movement and assistance in performance runs / taxiing
• Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling
• Immediately notify the Lead Mechanic of any problem areas such as parts, materials, workmanship, or airworthiness issues.?
• Provides the Lead Mechanic with a detailed report of work progression and open items to be included in the shift turnover log
• Proper tagging of Aircraft components, parts, and panels appropriately stored including racks by aircraft.
• Basic computer skills to be able to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance data bases
• Willing and able to work rotating shifts including, nights, holidays, weekends and days off.
• Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Your Education :

• A High school diploma or equivalent, and Airframe and Powerplant License are required. A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and / or a valid passport is ideal Your Initiative :
• We’re looking for team players who are self-motivated and able to perform in a fast paced environment where working under specific deadlines and time constraints will be common.

Your Sense of Responsibility :

• Attend work every day as scheduled to include overtime and weekend assignments.
• Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.
• Must have reliable transportation to get to work each and every day.
• Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
• Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.
• Maintain customer oriented work habits.
