What are the responsibilities and job description for the CDL Driver position at STS Technical Services?
STS Technical Services is seeking a skilled CDL Driver for an equipment solutions company that has been in business since 1946. The company operates a fleet of over 2,500 terminal tractors and trailers in major U.S. ports, and manufactures terminal tractors and trailers. The CDL Driver will be responsible for safely operating a tractor / trailer rated at 80,000 lbs. to transport materials and equipment, following all applicable laws, maintaining logs, and ensuring the protection of all property entrusted to them. This role requires a commitment to safety, customer service, and maintaining company standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate the tractor / trailer safely at all times.
- Maintain eligibility for work in compliance with DOT regulations, including random, routine, and post-accident drug and alcohol testing.
- Perform Driver's Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR) and maintain a driver log according to federal regulations.
- Load and unload equipment on the trailer, ensuring the load is properly secured.
- Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations.
- Comply with company policies and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
