As a Surveyor/Scanner Specialist, you will be responsible for performing field data collection using laser scanning technology to support a wide range of survey work for client projects.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assess the scanning and surveying needs of various disciplines and clients.
- Capture data using terrestrial-based laser scanning equipment and convert it into point clouds.
- Ensure all scanning data meets the highest quality standards.
- Manage the entire laser scanning process from fieldwork to project completion.
- Independently perform and complete all field laser scanning assignments.
- Monitor and ensure the proper functioning of scanning equipment; report and coordinate maintenance needs with management promptly.
- Collaborate with the laser scanning team and demonstrate flexibility based on business demands.
- Participate in client site-specific safety training and adhere to all client requirements.
- Work closely with the design team as needed to support project goals.
Education, Experience, and Skills
The ideal candidate will possess:
- An associate or bachelor's degree (preferred).
- Experience using Trimble, Nikon, and Sokkia survey instruments and data collectors.
- Proficiency with Leica Geosystems software including Cyclone, Register 360, CloudWorx, and TruView.
- Skills in Autodesk platforms such as AutoCAD, ReCap, Navisworks, and Civil 3D.
- Experience working on multi-discipline engineering projects involving structures, piping, equipment, and processes.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a design team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
