Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead and collaborate on high-impact projects in the semiconductor manufacturing sector. This role involves working closely with clients and site personnel while managing a team of mechanical engineers and designers. The position is based in Burlington, Vermont and requires relocation.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Execution:
- Work on projects that support critical manufacturing operations.
- Collaborate with clients in a dynamic, fast-paced environment to establish design requirements.
- Develop construction documents for complex manufacturing tools and facilities infrastructure systems.
- Technical Engineering:
- Design and oversee mechanical systems, including piping, ductwork, heating, cooling, exhaust, and process chemicals/gases for densely packed industrial facilities.
- Retrofit existing building systems to support tool installations.
- Perform engineering calculations, equipment sizing, selection, and specification.
- Provide support during construction and system integration.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Lead and mentor mechanical engineers supporting the site as needed.
- Serve as the mechanical representative on a multi-disciplinary design team.
- Work closely with client equipment owners, researchers, and manufacturers to develop utility requirement documents.
- Assist in training, quality control, and complex design processes.
Required Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- Experience:
- 7 years of mechanical facilities engineering experience, including HVAC, hydronics, process piping, exhaust, plumbing, and related systems.
- 5 years of experience working with semiconductor manufacturing tools (design, installation, or cleanroom operation).
- 2 years of field experience.
- Licenses & Certifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Vermont (or ability to obtain).
Skills & Competencies

- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant engineering software.

Other Requirements

- Work in confined spaces and lift/carry up to 25 lbs.
