Mechanical Designer

Qualifications :

  • Regular site visits to verify existing field conditions and to ensure the alignment of the design implementation process with the project’s observational reports and specifications.
  • Coordinating effectively with project engineers, project coordinators, engineering coordinators, construction trades, and other team members to ensure that the design / as-built reflects the project’s objectives.
  • Providing comprehensive 2D drawing packages that are clear, accurate, and follow the site design standards.
  • Verifying, updating, and drafting comprehensive chemical / mechanical plans including piping layout, equipment layout, schedules, and control schematics.
  • Verifying, updating, and drafting detailed piping plans including pipe routing, instrument and valve locations, and equipment layout.
  • Drafting Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) that show the interaction among system components and equipment.
  • Producing detailed flow diagrams for both gas-side and water-side systems (HVAC, Hydronics, and Fire Protection).
  • Implementing isometric views into design packages to assist in field installation and understanding.
  • Providing custom installation details for the more complex portions of projects.
  • Conducting punch-list walks on completed projects to ensure the final implementation adheres to the design intent.
  • Participates in the updating and drafting of new and existing products for design change, cost reductions, warranty improvements, and manufacturability. Assists with evaluation of vendors. Ability to conduct field walks and field verifications
  • Provide drawing and drafting support for details, vendor submittals, and perform engineering drafting, drawing review, drawing control, and related services required in the design of engineered systems (i.e., tank and / or vessel design)Physical Requirements :
  • Position requires visits and walks at an active client site in various stages of construction. Applicant must be able to walk long distances, sit and stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, twist, crawl, climb ladders, work on catwalks, work in small spaces, lift and carry up to 25 lbs.Authorized to Work :
