Entry Level Process Mechanical BIM Designer - Entry Level – (Hybrid)
The position requires experience in detail design of water and wastewater facilities and related infrastructure. Position must demonstrate an understanding of inter- discipline coordination. This position also requires an advanced level of proficiency in 2D CAD applications and a solid understanding of the fundamentals of 3D design concepts and related technology. Also good understanding of Revit and municipal wastewater.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Ability to layout piping systems including pipe spacing, fitting makeup, valve locations, and in- line components from sketches and catalog cut sheets provided by engineers and senior design staff.
- Fundamental knowledge of industry pipe standards such as AWWA and ANSI B16.
- Basic understanding of structural design and the interface between structural components and mechanical equipment and piping.
- Ability to layout HVAC ductwork and associated mechanical equipment from sketches and catalog cut sheets provided by engineers and senior design staff.
- Ability to develop plumbing and drain system layouts from sketches.
- Capable of generating fabrication isometric drawings from sketches.
- Ability to generate 2D drawings extractions from 3D design models and develop into final contract drawings.
- Capable of quality checking of drafted products and conformance with drawing production standards and project specific CAD / BIM requirements.
- Provide basic CAD technical support for junior level drafting staff.
- Working knowledge of water, wastewater, and infrastructure design.
- Basic understanding of converting data between MicroStation and AutoCAD.
