Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Authorization Specialist to join our team. This role requires extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in processing prior authorizations for surgical procedures and diagnostic studies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health insurance verification, proficiency with CPT/ICD coding, and the ability to effectively analyze and communicate clinical information to third-party carriers.
Key Responsibilities:
· Process and manage prior authorization requests for surgical procedures and diagnostic studies.
· Verify health insurance coverage and ensure that services are pre-approved by the appropriate carriers.
· Review CPT/ICD coding to ensure accuracy in authorization submissions.
· Analyze and communicate clinical information clearly and effectively to third-party carriers to secure necessary approvals.
· Maintain accurate records of authorization requests and their statuses.
· Collaborate with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to resolve any authorization issues.
· Stay current with insurance guidelines, policies, and coding updates.
Qualifications:
· Extensive experience in processing prior authorizations for surgical procedures and diagnostic studies.
· Strong background in health insurance verification and understanding of various insurance policies.
· Proficient in CPT/ICD coding.
· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to analyze and verbally convey clinical information to third-party carriers.
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
