What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Cardiographic Technician position at Stuart Cardiology Group?
Very Busy Cardiology office seeking a Certified Cardiographic Technician to perform outpatient 12 Lead electrocardiograph recordings for nuclear pharmacological, nuclear treadmill, treadmill, and Stress echocardiogram stress testing along with related documentation. Candidate must be flexible and able to travel between two offices Stuart and Port Saint Lucie. Candidate must be a team player, work well in a group and be reliable with exceptional attendance. Candidate must be able to take accurate blood pressure readings at rest and while a patient is on the treadmill. Proficient in starting IV's for patient testing. Would consider a Monitor Tech but they would be required to pass CCT within first 6 months.
- Previous patient care experience
- Great verbal and written skills
- Basic clerical, computer data entry and math skills (Welch Allyn experience a plus)
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Current BLS certification from American Heart Association required
- Successful Completion of EKG course or equivalent training
- Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) OR Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) (Please do not apply if you do not hold this certification as this is a minimum requirement)
- Intravenous line placement a plus (will need to master within 6 months of start date).
- Medium Work - (Exert up to 50 lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs constantly)
- Must be knowledgeable regarding cardiac and blood pressure medications
- Must be knowledgeable in stress testing protocols (Bruce, Modified Bruce, Lexiscan, One- and two-day Nuclear testing)
- Familiar with ICD 10 codes helpful but not mandatory
- Prepares patients for procedures. Reviews medical history, positions patients and cleans/shaves testing sites as appropriate.
- Interprets, describes and reports test results; recognizes recording errors and artifacts as well as abnormal and normal rhythms as well as ischemic changes and reacts appropriately.
- Monitors patient prior to, during and after procedures and promptly reports any abnormal findings in patient's condition.
- Prepares and maintains equipment, supplies and lab area.
- Ensures equipment is properly functioning. Reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel. Lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.
- Assists in maintaining a clean, and orderly department
