What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Director position at Stuart Rehabilitation and Healthcare?
We are currently recruiting a hands-on Maintenance Director to manage the safe and efficient function of all physical plant and environmental systems, responsible for life safety and emergency management, department budget and keeping the Administrator informed of all matters relating to the maintenance of the facility's building and equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct job responsibilities in accordance with facility policies and procedures and in compliance with all applicable federal and state laws.
- Hiring, scheduling , evaluations, attendance, salary, administration, discipline and discharge.
- Ensure department employees receive compliance training and education necessary to perform their job responsibilities, monitor employee performance, and identify and respond to maintenance issues and work cooperatively in a collaborative environment.
- Establish and maintain a routine preventative maintenance program for all physical plants and equipment including routine maintenance and repair required to keep the building and equipment in good working order, monitor building and equipment renovations, remodeling or replacement projects performed by contractors.
Requirements:
- Minimum (3) three years of maintenance supervisory experience in a healthcare facility
- JCAHO knowledge, AHCA Knowledge
- Knowledge of life safety, local, state and federal codes, air conditioning, heating, plumbing, mechanical and electric equipment generally used in a healthcare facility. Order and receive supplies and delivery validation.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to negotiate in the facility's best interest.
- Should be able to maintain and/or repair the following items to acceptable standards: Plumbing and air conditioning, refrigerators, hot water heater/boilers, washers and dryers, emergency power generators, carpentry and furniture repair, painting or redecorating of furniture and equipment, routine concrete and masonry repairs.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to negotiate in the facility's best interest.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
