Senior Software Engineer (Customer Success Operations) (StubHub, Inc., Santa Monica, CA)
Collaborate with product managers to bridge the gap between technical implementation and business requirements, designing and refining technical solutions, estimating engineering effort, and developing software solutions. Develop software to meet the specifications agreed with product managers and engineering leads using engineering best practices. Protect and further the interests of the business by proactively identifying and escalating issues which require attention, such as errors, bugs, or potential new features to improve the company service. Lead the implementation of various systems and components that are critical to operations. Design and develop distributed, scalable, and secure APIs. Provide mentorship to colleagues thereby refining their technical craft and expanding their knowledge of modern practices. Advocate for advances to the stack, identifying and evangelizing improvements to increase quality and velocity. Work with other engineers to build and own products across a nascent modern tech stack, using supported infrastructure in the public cloud such as Azure and AWS. Design and implement high-performance, scalable, and secure SQL Server database solutions to support our company vision. Act as a subject matter expert for evaluating candidates' technical skills. Telecommuting may be permitted up to 3 days per week. When not telecommuting, must report to StubHub Inc. at 120 Broadway, Suite 200, Santa Monica, CA 90401. Salary : $200,000 to $300,000 per year.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS : Bachelor's degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus 5 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, Software Architect, or any occupation / position / job title involving engineering, designing, building, operating, and maintaining software products.
In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, employer will accept 3 years of post-secondary studies in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field, plus 1 year of experience with engineering, designing, building, operating, and maintaining software products.
Must also have 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, Software Architect, or any occupation / position / job title involving engineering, designing, building, operating, and maintaining software products.
Must also have experience in the following : 3 years of professional experience working with a mixture of back-end languages including C#, Python, and MySQL; 3 years of professional experience using debugging tools including Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code; 2 years of professional experience building and owning products using supported infrastructure in the public cloud including Azure DevOps and Azure Data Explorer; 1 year of professional experience working with front-end frameworks that support architecting complex applications including Microsoft .NET6 / 7 / 8 and React; 1 year of professional experience building and deploying solutions to service global markets, including multi-language and multi-currency e-commerce platforms; and 1 year of professional experience engineering solutions that support a two-sided marketplace.

The anticipated gross base pay range is below for this role. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, and competencies. Base annual salary is one component of StubHub's total compensation and competitive benefits package, which includes equity, 401(k), paid time off, paid parental leave, and comprehensive health benefits.
