Position Summary
This placement will support a variety of natural resource field research and communication projects for Yukon-Charley Rivers National Preserve (YUCH), Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve (GAAR), Denali National Park and Preserve (DENA) and Central Alaska (CAKN) and Arctic (ARCN) Inventory and Monitoring Networks.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Field projects may include:
- Conducting peregrine falcon surveys along the upper Yukon River
- Small mammal live trapping in DENA
- Snowshoe hare and bird surveys in GAAR
- Aerial sheep surveys in ARCN parks
- Water quality work in CAKN and ARCN parks
The placement will also work on developing a video script on NPS management. They will learn skills in video production using Adobe Premier Pro software. The placement will also support archiving of digital media (photos, videos).
Marginal Duties
This position will assist in data entry and proofing for a variety of wildlife projects.
Required Qualifications
Ability to communicate effectively. Experience camping in bear habitat.
This SCA Position is authorized under the Public Land Corps Authority. All participants must be between the ages of 16 and 30, inclusive, or veterans age 35 or younger. Participants must also be a citizen or national of the United States or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States. Hours served can be applied toward the Public Land Corps (PLC) hiring authority.

40 per week
Living Accommodations
The placement must arrange for their own housing in Fairbanks. A housing stipend is provided.
Compensation
$350/week living allowance
$1,300 travel stipend
$1,250/month housing stipend (for 5 months)
$1,100 duty-related reimbursements for in-season travel, gear, trainings
All allowances are subject to applicable federal, state, and local taxes.
