Urban Green - Roving Seattle Summer Crew
Position Summary
The 2025 SCA Roving Seattle Summer Urban Green Crew will work with local partners to do invasive species maintenance, erosion control, trail maintenance, and mulching. The majority of the crew's work will be in parks and green spaces in the Seattle area, except for a 2-week camping and working hitch to the North Cascades area (July 14-25), and a tentative three-day, two-night hitch (August 4-6) working with the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, camping at Denny Creek Campground. SCA will provide all food, transportation, and gear for these trips. The crew will take part in environmental education and green job readiness activities throughout the week. This includes field trips to a number of sites in the region every Friday. The crew will be composed of 5 students, ages 14-18 (19 ok if just graduated), and 2 adult crew leaders. Housing is not provided, except during the camping trips. At the end of the crew on August 22nd, all Urban Green program members will be invited to attend an end-of-season celebration/BBQ where everyone is encouraged to invite family and friends to show off their accomplishments from the summer.

Required Qualifications
Applicants must be 14-18 years of age (19 ok if just graduated) during the program dates. ; Must be currently in high school or a recent high school graduate. ; Must be located in the greater Seattle area (housing not provided) ; Must be available for camping trips (July 14-25 and August 4-6). ; Must be available for the ENTIRE program to be considered!! (7/7/25-8/22/25).
