Conservation Begins HerePark Visitor Services / Natural Resource Individual PlacementPosition Location : Woolley Hollow State ParkAbout us : The Student Conservation Association (SCA) is the largest provider of hands-on environmental conservation programs for youth and adults. Program participants protect and restore national parks, national forests, wildlife refuges, marine sanctuaries, cultural landmarks, community green spaces, and much more across the country. Position Description : Spend the summer exploring a career and making a difference at Woolly Hollow State Park!Specific job tasks will vary by site but may include : Key duties : developing and presenting interpretive programs, maintaining park facilities and trails; performing various natural resource management goals.Marginal Duties : providing information to guests, and assisting with general park operations.Please let us know during the application process if you have a specific area of interest.To qualify for this placement, an applicant must meet the following criteria :
- Be a full-time student in good standing at an Arkansas college / university at the time of application.
- Have declared a degree of study.
- Have completed 60 hours of college credit by the time the position begins.
- Be an Arkansas resident paying in-state tuition.
- Maintain a 2.5 cumulative grade point average.
- Demonstrate coursework or knowledge related to work area.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Pass a criminal background check
- Have reliable on-site transportationPriority will be given to candidates from universities who provide course credit hours for Individual Placements. Selected candidates will coordinate directly with their universities to obtain credit for their work.Each intern selected will receive :
- A weekly subsistence allowance of $500 during the internship period
- A weekly travel grant of $50 to offset the cost of commuting to the internship site
- An approved uniform.
