Title: Special Education Teacher for Students with Moderate Disabilities - ACE Alternative Program - Teacher 1.0FTE
Position Summary:
Promotes learning and growth of all students providing high-quality instruction, authentic and meaningful student assessments, analyzing student data, using data to improve instruction, continuously providing students with constructive feedback, and continuously refining learning objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Not limited to):
*Provide specialized instruction to students with a variety of learning disabilities assigned to the ACE alternative program
*Chair, facilitate and write Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and any related documentation including Chapter 688 referrals and transition planning, etc. for students on their caseload
*Complete formal and informal student assessments to determine eligibility for Special Education services
*Develop, provide, and implement academic and behavioral accommodations and modifications for students in general education classes.
*Work in collaboration with other service providers, outside providers, and general education teachers, including other members of the ACE program team
*Teach executive functioning skills to students in the ACE program who are not on IEPs
Qualifications:
*Master’s degree from an accredited college or university
*Licensed in Moderate Disabilities 5-12 by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education, to include Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement
*Experience evaluating, interpreting, and reporting assessments such as: WJ-IV and/or WIAT III or IV
*Experience implementing academic and social/behavioral interventions
*Experience implementing transition planning to college/career
*Excellent communication and collaboration skills with families, general education teachers, and students
*Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of service providers
Experience Preferred:
*3 years educational teaching environment
*Experience with students who have additional executive functioning and social-emotional needs
