What are the responsibilities and job description for the Psychometrist position at Student Support Services?
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides psychometrically sound education assessment for children.
2. Compiles Assessment Team data and writes Assessment Team reports.
3. Reports at least monthly to the Director of Student Support Services on the status of students in the assessment
process and on the number of children awaiting assessment.
4. Confers with principals and teachers regarding the three-tier process, referral to placement and student assessments.
5. Confers with teachers and parents of childrenexperiencing school-related problems and with parents of students
being assessed of placed in Special Education.
6. Acts as a liaison between the schools, parents, students, teachers and social service agencies regarding needs of at-risk children.
7. Completes Child Find and other reports and meets deadlines set by Director of Student Support Services.
8. Conducts Functional Behavior Assessments, writes behavior plans and meets with teachers to ensure they understand how to implement them.
9. Supervises and supports School Psychology and other practicum students and interns from MSU.
10. Reports regularly and punctually to assigned work location(s) and performs all assigned duties.
11. Notifies principal or supervisor of impending absence.
12. Assumes additional responsibilities when deemed necessary by the Director of Student Support Services.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a valid Mississippi license with endorsement 213-Psychometrist (K-12)
Desired Qualifications:
Two (2) years experience in psychometry
