What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor of Student Support Services position at STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES?
SCPS is seeking a Supervisor of Student Support Services to collaboratively provide vision and leadership for the Office of Student Support Services through strategic planning, organizing, directing, administering, and evaluating special education programs and services in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This position will work collaboratively with the Executive Director and Assistant Director to meet and exceed division and department goals.
Essential Job Functions:
- Directs support to school locations for instructional planning, implementation, and curriculum development/service delivery model
- Assists the Executive Director and Assistant Director with general oversight, management, and leadership for the Office of Student Support Services
- Assists with fiscal management and Instructional planning for the Office of Student Support Services
- Assists building administration with evaluation and supervision of special education personnel.
- Assists the professional development department with the development, implementation, and evaluation of professional learning activities for special education personnel
- Assists the Human Resources department with recruiting, screening, interviewing, and recommending personnel for positions in special education
- Assists in directing curriculum planning and development of special education

Education and Experience:
Required
- Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Three (3) years of successful teaching experience and/or three (3) years of experience in a PreK-12 leadership position.
Preferred
- Currently possesses a Virginia Collegiate Professional or Postgraduate Professional License with an endorsement, or provisional endorsement, as Administrator
- Considerable experience and demonstrated success in providing special education services as a School Based Administrator

Employment Terms: Employment may be offered as a 12-Month (243 Day) contract, at a minimum of 7.5 hours worked per day. This position is evaluated annually.
