The Ithaca College Wellness Clinic is a membership-based fitness center located in the Center for Health Sciences. The mission of the Wellness Clinic is to provide quality health and fitness services to the Ithaca College community (IC faculty, staff, retirees, graduate students, and spouse/partners), while enhancing the practical experiences of Exercise and Sport Science students through guided clinical training. The Wellness Clinic is hiring Front Desk Assistants for the summer and fall semester.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Greet and orient clients and visitors.
- Provide administrative assistance to the staff of the Wellness Clinic.
- Enforce and follow policies and procedures of the Wellness Clinic.
- Schedule appointments.
- Field phone and email inquiries.
- Make photocopies and mail, fax, or email documents.
- Maintain client, facility, and equipment records.
- Facility & equipment maintenance and launder towels.
- Ensure client safety and provide emergency care.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Matriculated student at Ithaca College.
- Availability to work during weekday operational hours (6 am – 7 pm), preferably for multiple semesters and/or summer sessions.
- Ability to interact in a professional and courteous manner with people of diverse ages, cultures, and communication styles.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, busy environment.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and work ethic.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Commitment to client confidentiality.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is preferred, especially Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams.
- Required Certifications/Trainings upon hiring: Adult CPR/AED, HIPAA, Blood Borne Pathogen, and Harassment Prevention Certification/Training.
Preference will be given to students in the Department of Exercise Science and Athletic Training (ESAT) or in the School of HSHP.
