Job Summary
Ithaca College is looking for students on campus to join our team and officiate Intramural Sporting events. As an official you will be asked to enforce the rules of that sport fairly and ensure a positive and enjoyable experience for participants. Ithaca Intramurals offers sports that include Basketball, Flag Football, Volleyball, Soccer, and many more. Responsibilities
Attend mandatory training of sport to ensure shifts throughout the season.
Enforce rules and Intramural policies during your shifts of Intramural games and tournaments.
Stay updated with rule interpretations, policies, and staff updates to ensure rules are being applied consistently throughout league play.
Effectively communicate with players, colleagues, and supervisors regarding game schedules, rule interpretations, and disciplinary actions.
Prioritize the safety of all participants by monitoring game conditions and enforcing safety protocols.
Encourage good sportsmanship and ethical behavior among participants.
Assist with setup, breakdown, and general operations related to intramural sports events as needed.
Qualifications
Previous experience of officiating of any kind is preferred but not required.
Good knowledge of rules and strategies for Intramural activities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical ability to stay on your feet and run up and down the field/court.
Ability to work evenings and nights and have ability on the weekends.
Pay Rate: $ 15.50
