Overview:
The Student Employment Assistant supports the daily operations of the Student Employment office at Ithaca College. This position plays a key role in maintaining job requisitions, managing communications, and ensuring a smooth experience for students and supervisors. The assistant will also contribute to special projects such as promoting job opportunities, assisting with presentations, and enhancing the Student Employment website.

Hours: 10 hours per week, depending on availability and office needs.

Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities (TDRs):
Responsibilities:
1. Requisition Maintenance:
• Log into the ICHR Cloud to review and approve job requisitions.
• Ensure job descriptions are accurate, compliant, and well-formatted.
• Communicate with supervisors to make necessary adjustments.
2. Email and Communication Management:
• Access and manage the Student Employment email inbox.
• Respond to inquiries using provided templates or escalate as needed.
• Categorize and organize emails into designated folders.
3. Offer Management:
• Communicate with the Student Employment Specialist on any irregular offers.
4. System Navigations
• Learn and navigate ICHR Cloud to review, approve, and track student employment requisitions.
• Access and update records in relevant student employment databases and tracking spreadsheets.
• Utilize the ticketing system to monitor and resolve submitted requests.
• Use Ithaca College’s internal platforms for job postings, hiring workflows, and student employment records management.
Responsibilities based on interest:
1. Presentations:
• Assist with the creation and delivery of workshops and training materials.
• Provide logistical support for events.
2. Job Promotions:
• Collaborate with the team to advertise hard-to-fill or high-priority roles.
• Monitor promotional efforts and suggest improvements.
3. Newsletter and Web Maintenance:
• Draft and distribute newsletters featuring job updates and program highlights.
• Update and maintain the Student Employment website to ensure accurate content.
