Academic Tutor Job Details
- Schedule: Mon/Wed/Thurs, 1PM-4PM (some sites may require work on Tues or Fri)
- 9-15 hours per week
- Work Locations: LAUSD school sites in the Huntington Park area.
Academic Tutor Job Highlights
- Pay rate:
- $22 per hour standard
- $23 per hour if bilingual (Spanish or other preferred language based on site request)
- $24 per hour if credentialed teacher or certificated tutor
- Additional hours, virtually, available for those that work for our in-person school sites
- Gas reimbursement when working multiple programs
Academic Tutor Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 60 units of college credits with a minimum of 1 year of tutoring exp. (preferably Math and ELA)
- Established proficiency in subject matter
- Detail-oriented and highly dependable
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Motivation and passion to help students achieve academic excellence
- Must have reliable transportation for in-person tutoring. If driving, proof of insurance for your vehicle is needed
- Must clear reference check & FBI/DOJ background check processes
- Must provide a negative tuberculosis test (valid within the last 2 years)
- Please provide a copy of any certification you hold such as a Teacher’s Credential/Certification or Tutor Certification
- National Tutoring Association certification available to StudentNest tutors
Salary : $22 - $24
