About this specific role:
This role will work with all SCI programs and staff. The role will focus on SCI’s social media presence and engage with the community. This internship will also be responsible for content creation and marketing of events and SCI programs.
What does “a day in the life” of this role look like? Some things you’ll be doing include:
· Manage and create content for SCI’s social media presence (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
· Collaborate with other departments (Studer Family of Companies entities) and contracted parties (Marketing companies) for the creation of event print materials and media.
· Work with the SCI team, and Events Coordinator to ensure partner contracts and benefits are fulfilled.
· Create content for promotional materials for EntreCon, Gingerbread Competition, Light Up Learing and Building Brains programs
· Leverage marketing opportunities to promote ticket sales and event attendance.
· Design email campaigns for Building Jobs and Building Brains programs.
· Use program management tools to effectively plan the yearly event and media calendars.
· Assist Data and Communications Coordinator with a website redesign and update

Requirements
Knowledge and competencies required:
· Experience with social media and leveraging marketing opportunities
· Tech and computer savvy with proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Constant Contact, Survey Monkey, Canva
· Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills including experience working with external clients
General skills required:
· Enthusiastic, and love helping people succeed
· Ability to prioritize responsibilities and to operate with changing priorities
· Advanced organizational and time management skills
· Function collaboratively as part of a client-orientated team
· Self-starter, ability to perform under general management guidance

Position type and working hours:
This is an unpaid, part-time internship. Days, hours and length of role will be based upon needs and availability and will be set with SCI’s Executive Director. Applicants must currently be enrolled in an accredited university seeking a degree program in Marketing, Social Media Management, Communications, or similar degree program.
