What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior or Senior Designer / Draftsperson /Principal Designer Assistant position at Studio Frank?
OVERVIEW
We are seeking skilled Junior and Senior Interior Designers and Principal Assistant Designer to join our growing and dynamic team in a beautiful mountain town with beautiful studio and showroom spaces.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans that are essential for the development and construction of various projects. This role requires a strong understanding of design principles and proficiency in drafting software to produce accurate and high-quality designs that meet project specifications.
DESIGN
- Conceptualize and sketch design plans
- Develop design options in collaboration with the lead designer and team
- Source materials and products included in plans
- Create presentation materials including 'mood boards'
- Utilize computer applications in the design process
- Reviews throughout design process to determine whether client goals have been met
DRAFTING
- Develop schematic design, design development, and construction documentsthroughout all phases of the project
- Assist in some construction administration including making site visits to review progress, and produce sketches for contractors
- Develop and maintain detailed drawing and sample libraries
GENERAL
- Attend client meetings with ability to contribute to design discussions
- Assist in the preparation of design documents
- Assist Principal Designer/Founder on buying trips
- E-mail correspondence with clients
- Coordinate team/client meetings as needed
- If needed, assist other designers with sourcing, drafting, etc.
- Track orders and assist with shipping and receiving
- Coordinate with our storage facility to receive shipments as needed
PREFER EXPERIENCE WITH THE FOLLOWING SOFTWARE AND PLATFORMS:
- AutoDesk (multiple facets)
- SketchUp experience is a plus
- Rendering Software (Including, but not limited to, Revit, Lumion, Enscape)
- Studio Designer database experience is a plus
- Microsoft Office 365
- Other programs used: Adobe Design Suite, Egnyte (cloud based server), Slack (messaging)
OTHER SKILLS
- Strong drafting skills with the ability to create precise technical drawings.
- Knowledge of mechanical design principles and practices.
- Familiarity with 2D animation techniques is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
