What are the responsibilities and job description for the Madison, State Street, Part-Time Apprentice Piercer position at STUDS?

We offer a better retail and digital experience that prioritizes safety and expertise in a cool, fun and welcoming environment, along with a wide earring assortment-all at an accessible price point.

Want to get paid to become a piercer at Studs? Apprentices undergo a minimum 6-week paid piercing training program inclusive of classroom style learning, observation, and hands-on training. We are looking for Apprentices to join our training program that will kickoff in February in our NYC studio locations . Upon successful completion of the program, graduated Apprentices will become eligible for a Part-Time Associate Piercer position at our State Street studio in Madison.

Hourly Rate :

Graduated Apprentices become Associate Piercers and make $31.25 / hour, plus tips for their first 6-months post program
After 6-months, you become a Piercer and make $33.65 - $35.65 / hour , plus tips
During the 6-week training program, Apprentices make $17.50 / hour, plus tips

Admits mistakes and is not afraid to escalate when help is needed

Requirements :

At least 3 years of relevant work experience

Prefer at least two years of experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist (performing venipuncture and / or finger sticks)

18-29 hours per week, with required availability from Friday-Sunday

Must be able to stand for 8 hour shifts

Must pierce a minimum 19 appointments a day

Travel to LA / OC Area for the duration of the in-person training program : 2 / 24-4 / 6 (paid by Studs)

Must be able to visually inspect ear anatomy to execute advanced piercings

Must be able to deliver piercings with a steady hand

Must be able to lift 20 lbs

Must be able to handle chemicals safely
