DMV/Maryland Partnerships Manager

Partnership Manager, DMV / Washington, DC Metropolitan Area

Partnership Manager supports Study Smart Tutors’ efforts in growing its services to school districts, educational institutes, state departments, and universities. The position will be responsible for direct outreach, including phone calls, emails and school visits, to new and returning clients, and attending virtual and in-person events and conferences.

Job Responsibilities

1. Business Development (90%)

● Develop lists of schools and districts in the following target markets:

o Anne Arundel County

o Baltimore County

o Calvert County

o Charles County

o Frederick County

o Howard County

o Montgomery County

o Prince George County

o Washington D.C. Public Schools

● Outreach to district directors, school administrators or similar decision makers to

create pathways for new sales

● Develop strategic partnerships with district leaders

● Create a professional and engaging first impression with our prospects and customers

● Accurately enter, update, and maintain prospect information in Salesforce

● Generate new business through outbound prospecting

● Provide client support before/during/after implementation

● Conduct discovery calls to identify customer requirements and expectations in order

to make tailored product recommendations

● Proactively seek new business opportunities with leads and outbound sales

development activities 

● Up to 25% travel is required to attend local and national conferences and

events, as well as weekly site visits/drop-ins

2. Day to day tasks

● Pre-call research and planning

● Cold and warm calling

● Follow-up with previous contacts

● Maintaining and renew previous customers

● Utilizing Salesforce

● Work closely with sales and marketing team to develop strategies, and messaging to

drive opportunities for new business

3. Other Duties (10%)

● Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed

● The Partnership Manager will use email and phone communication to establish and

build relationships with potential partners.

● The Partnership Manager is a fully remote position and will report directly to the

Associate Director of Partnership Development.

Qualifications

● 2 Years in similar sales/business development role in education field

● Experience in teaching or in TRIO/GEAR UP space is useful

● Located in DMV area

● Contacts or experience working in MD/DMV area

● Bachelor’s Degree

● Ability to quickly develop relationships and establish credibility through consultative

needs-based conversations

● Ability to think on your feet to creatively solve our customer business needs

● Exceptional and persuasive communication skills, both verbal and written

● Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and Salesforce software

● Ability to visit clients in region and attend conferences on as-needed basis

● Willingness to take direction and execute tasks independently

Salary and Benefits

● Full-time salary and benefits commensurate with experience. Salary will include both

base and incentive compensation.

● Base salary of $70,000 - $75,000 DOE benefits

● Commissions of $50,000 - $150,000 based on meeting performance metrics
