Job Description: Alexandria Location Manager
We are seeking a location manager for Studyville, an academic workspace which
provides tutoring, ACT prep, microschooling, and other programming in a cool and
comfortable learning environment for middle and high school age students. The
ideal candidate for this position will have a passion for working with students and
have qualified experience in retail, education, hospitality, or new busines
development .
The Manager will lead the operations of Studyville in fulfilling our mission “t
provide excellent tutoring and study help for middle and high school students in an
energetic, cool environment that inspires success, excellence and collaboration.”
The Manager assures a high-quality customer experience by:
- Communicating effectively with students and families
- Being attentive to the learning needs of all Studyville students
- Planning Studyville resources such as staffing, training and developme
- Assuring facilities always offer a cool, clean, safe and inviting space for students
The Studyville Manager will be a top leadership role for fulfilling the Studyvill
mission, managing the Studyville staff and promoting the Studyville mission in the
community.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Weekend and evening hours required. Work operating hours of 3-9 pm weekdays
(closed Fridays) and noon to close on weekends.
- Regularly greet students and family members for check in upon arrival at
Studyville
- Develop relationships and demonstrate interest in each student such that the
student feels comfortable and to ensure our team is informed on the learning
needs and progress of each student
- Make referrals to particular tutors based upon the student needs and tutor
capabilities
- Attract and recruit effective Tutors and other necessary staff to fulfill th
Studyville mission
- Oversee / supervise tutors in meeting Studyville objectives
- Assure daily operational records including student and tutor files are current an
maintained
- Conduct regular staff evaluations/reviews including educational needs,
compliance and recommendations for development
- Develop and provide Studyville staff training to assure compliance with Studyville
policies, procedures, tools and best practices in fulfilling the Studyville Missi
- Execute local marketing events to attract new student members, retain existing
students and to support special programs
- Ensure payroll and other light bookkeeping duties are completed accurately and
on time
- Provide accurate and thorough business reporting as required by the owners
- Regularly meet with parents / guardians in person when picking up students
- Be positive, enthusiastic and encouraging to all staff, students and family
- Make presentations to local schools and related organizations for the purpose of
educating the public on the Studyville mission and associated benefi
REQUIREMENTS
- College Degree in Education, Business or a related field, or working toward
degree
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Very strong interpersonal skills including the ability to relate with students,
families and school administrators
- Strong leadership skills for cultivating and maintaining a positive work culture
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Preferred 2 – 3 years of experience in a professional supervisory role
