SU MM ARY
Directs and coordinates educational, administrative, and counseling activities of elementary sch o ol by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The minimum performance expectatio n s include, but are not limited to, the following functions / task s:
- Develops and evaluates educatio n al program to ensure conformance to state and school board standards.
- Develops and coordinates educatio n al programs through meetings with staff, review of teachers' activities, and issuance of directives .
- Confers with teachers, students, and parents concerning educatio n a l and behavioral problems in school, Establishes and maintains relationships with colleges, community organizations, and other schools to coordinate educati on a l services.
- R equisitions and allocates supplies, equipment, and instructional material a s needed .
- Directs preparation of class schedules, cumulative records, and attendance reports.
- Plans and monitors school budget.
- Plans and directs building maintena n ce.
- Develops and administers educational programs for students with mental or physical disabilities.
- Works with school staff and community to maintain an atmosphere conducive to learning and appropriate student behavior.
- Advises the central personnel office of staff needs, and participates in the recruitment, emp l oyment, assignment, promotion, transfer, nonrenewal, and dismissal of certificated and classified personnel.
- D evises and administers a school budget, utilizing all available funds.
- Supervises the maintenance of accurate bookkeeping and accounting of school funds.
- Maintains proper utilizati on , care, and attractiveness of buildings and grounds.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises and evaluates the performance of each member of the school staff and establishes individual programs for improvement consistent with the division's staff development program.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION an d / or EXPERIENCE
Master's degree (M.Ed.) or equivalent. Hold the Postgraduate Professional Certificate with an administation/supervision endorsement. Demonstrated leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
