What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Clerk position at Stuppy Inc?
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate records and inventory of all materials, stock and equipment, both incoming and outgoing. Responsible for the scheduling, organizing and managing timely incoming and outgoing shipments, including accurately processing all our customers’ material orders. Responsible for generating shipping labels, coordinating with carriers, tracking shipments, updating project managers on order ship status, and maintaining accurate records. Maintains all shipping and receiving paperwork including the management of daily pick tickets with shipping associates, to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods to our customers; also leads in receiving incoming shipments, verifying quantities, and reporting any quality or quantity discrepancies. The position will execute this purpose by directly supporting the mission and values of Stuppy, being guided in their decision making and behaviors toward achieving the common goals of the organization.
Essential Functions
- Shipping Coordination – Scheduling of both incoming and outgoing shipments as needed, including the creation of the bill of materials, invoices, and packing slips.
- Shipment Tracking and Reporting – Contant monitoring of shipments and communicating with internal and external customers, providing timely and accurate shipment information.
- Inventory Management – Maintaining accurate inventory records, ensure material handling, and packaging requirements always meet or exceed standards.
- Packaging and Labeling – Produce accurate shipping labels and ensure that the proper packaging materials are used in the shipping of all products to our customers.
- Loading and Unloading – Assist other shipping associates in the loading and unloading of materials as needed.
- Data Entry – Responsible for the shipping confirmation of materials in the Enterprise Resource Planning system.
- Quality Control – Regular inspections of orders to ensure accuracy before shipment. Reporting of any issues observed during inspections, including the accurate completion of shipping paperwork to ensure order accuracy before products are shipped.
- Organization – Ability to maintain a clean and organized shipping area, inventory, managing packing materials, and adhering to and enforcing safety practices.
- 5S: Actively participates in company improvement initiatives.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- High School Diploma, G.E.D. and experience working in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Basic data entry, computer skills and understanding of enterprise resource planning systems.
- Ability to perform continuous physical activities including walking, standing, and lifting.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work and communicate effectively with associates at all levels of the organization.
- Strong self-starter and capability to remain focused always ensuring efficient execution.
- The ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers is essential.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet shipping deadlines and change priorities.
Work Environment/Physical Demands

Standard office and/or manufacturing environment. While performing the duties of the position, the employee is required to stand, walk and lift objects up to 50 lbs. They may be frequently exposed to loud noises and bright light. Vision perception is normal for administrative duties.
