NOTICE OF VACANCY

Bus Drivers – Full Time or Part Time

Full Size Bus

STURBRIDGE / TANTASQUA REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICTS

ANTICIPATED START DATE: Immediately

Salary Range: $23.00 - $28.50 per hour

REPORTS TO: Transportation Coordinator/Manager, Business Manager, Superintendent

JOB GOAL: To safely transport children to and from school and on any activities during and after school hours.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Safely operates the school bus in accordance with all relevant laws, regulations, policies, practices, and procedures

· Picks up and delivers students in accordance with the routes and schedules developed by the Supervisor of Transportation

· Effectively manages student behavior

· Communicates clearly and effectively with students, other drivers, supervisors, and administrators.

· Maintains self-control under pressure

· Attends any in-service training classes as required by the District

· Maintains a satisfactory driving and criminal background record

· Reads and interprets schedules and forms and uses a map for directions, when necessary

· Cleans assigned bus on at least a weekly basis

· Conducts a thorough pre-trip inspection daily and promptly reports maintenance and repair needs

· Arrives at least fifteen (15) minutes prior to scheduled departure

· Participates in at least two (2) bus evacuations per year

· All other duties as assigned by the Superintendent

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Must be at least 21 years of age

· Valid CDL B with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements and a School Bus Driver Certificate preferred or will provide paid training to get licensed.

· Must submit to pre-employment and random substance abuse and alcohol testing

· Must be able to meet or exceed the annual state required physical examination

· Must know the rules, regulations, procedures and laws as they relate to the operation of a school bus

· Must have the ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions

· Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable

· Approved CORI and Fingerprinting results
