Job Summary:
The battery route driver’s primary responsibility is delivery and pick up of batteries on a specific route at our Sioux Falls Warehouse. The battery route driver will deliver batteries to specific customers on a regular basis. This person also will restock and pull the batteries and maintain the warehouse inventory In addition, this person is responsible for picking up returns from customer sites, both cores and defects and doing rotates to keep inventory fresh. The route driver is responsible for maintaining the company vehicle they use, ensuring it is in excellent condition.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Must have or be able to acquire a class B CDL.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Be able to follow procedures for the position
Primary Responsibilities:
A battery route driver ensures accurate, safe and timely delivery and pick-up batteries from customers on their route.
- Pick up and deliver batteries to customers on scheduled route.
- Pick up returns from customers on scheduled route.
- Pick up cores and defective batteries at sister stores on scheduled route.
- Accurate and on-time completion of required paper-work.
- Maintain the company vehicle in excellent condition, by periodic washing as needed and appropriate, keeping the interior clean and organized and checking engine fluid levels as required.
- Maintaining the warehouse inventory of batteries and helping load out battery cores when needed.
Secondary Responsibilities:
A battery route driver is part of the store and APH team and, therefore, assists other team members with as needed.
- Assists with daily housekeeping including dusting and sweeping as requested.
- Knows all key customers by name and priority.
- Be aware of the store’s current sales and sales quotas.
- Promote current sales programs and related items.
- Refer inquiries to appropriate personnel back at the store.

Environment: A battery route driver spends a substantial amount of time inside a battery delivery vehicle driving to various stores and accounts. There is occasional need to work in a warehouse or store environment.
