Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking team member to join our team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in carpentry, logging and lumber experience and responsible for various tasks within the forest and on commercial land management, ensuring efficient operations and maintaining a safe working environment. This role involves heavy lifting, controlled fires for fire mitigation, trash pick up, order picking, and operating heavy equipment as needed. The Yard Worker will play a crucial role in supporting shipping and receiving activities while adhering to safety protocols.
Duties
- Perform shipping and receiving tasks, including loading and unloading materials from trucks.
- Execute order picking accurately to fulfill customer requests and maintain inventory levels.
- Operate heavy equipment such as pallet jacks, tractors, bobcats, plows and forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Build and maintain camp sites
- Build fences and gates
- Carpentry duties
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard area to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist in warehouse management tasks, including inventory tracking and reporting discrepancies.
- Collaborate with supervisors to optimize workflow and address any operational challenges.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in shipping and receiving is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with order picking processes and management systems is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 100 pounds) consistently throughout the shift.
- Experience operating heavy equipment is a plus, including pallet jacks, Bob cat tractors, plows or forklifts.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing operational needs.
